MUSICAL HIT ‘CHICAGO: HIGH SCHOOL EDITION’ SET TO TAKE THE STAGE AT PV HIGH
Broadway’s longest-running American musical, Chicago, will be presented by the Palos Verdes High School Drama Department for seven performances November 8-17. Set in 1920’s Chicago, and based on true events, Chicago follows Roxie Hart, a wannabe vaudevillian star arrested for murdering her lover, despite her attempts to convince her pushover husband to lie for her. Facing conviction and death row, Roxie and another “Merry Murderess” – Velma Kelly – vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the “American Dream”: fame, fortune, and acquittal. With a dazzling score of award-winning hits like “Cell Block Tango,” “Razzle Dazzle,” and “All That Jazz,” Chicago is both captivating and wildly entertaining. Performances run November 8-9 and 15-16 at 7:00pm, November 10 and 17 at 2:00pm, and November 14 at 4:00pm in the MPR at Palos Verdes High School, 600 Cloyden Road in Palos Verdes Estates.
